Smile Toyota Camry, Hyundai Sonata or Kia Optima?

Hi!

I'm new to this forum so first of all I want to say hello

I am about to buy a new car for the family, I have to kids (both boys, 8 and 14). But we got stuck in our decision and we are not sure which of these could be the best buy:

Toyota Camry

Hyundai Sonata

Kia Optima

I want to buy a new car, with no miles on it.

-Lets assume that all of these three could have the same engine and are coming with full options (everything each of the manufacturers provides for each car).

Which on of these would you recommend to me, knowing that I want to use it as a family car?

I would be glad if you would share your opinions with me

thanks in advance
Mike

Hyundai Sonata, or the camry. Between the two i think the sonata is going to offer more for the money now days. But the camry has one hell of a track record.

Hyundia has really changed in the last few years for the good. I do love the styling they have, and reliability is great now. Kia still is on the fence. They have made some drastic improvements try to follow the lead of hyundai, but time will tell if they have fixed all the reliability issues they've had. And their resale value is poor.

So the best advice i could give between the two would be to test drive each of the cars, in the exact trim/package your interested in. And take the wife and kids for their opinion too.

Hi pbasil1,

first of all thank you for your kind advice. I should test drive the two cars you picked from those three.
The things that makes me think of the Kia are on the one hand the design, which in my view is really good, and on the other hand the 7 years of guarantee. But I'm not sure. As you said, Toyota has a good record and is reliable.

Thanks again

Toyota for the resale value.

Truth be told I don't like any of them though! Go drive a Chevrolet Cruze, you'll be surprised. Focus too.

Camry. I'm not even looking at the others. Reasons:

1. Proven Reliability
2. Proven Safety
3. Proven Resale Value
4. Very common, parts available. Mods cheaper than most.

You could create a sleeper beast out of the Camry if that were your wish, without spending too much.

But, like Mike, I prefer a different kind of car. Many people on this forum have already read in their mind what I am about to say.

2007 Volvo S60R. Cheaper. Faster. Better. Stronger. R for Refined. I mean, look at them!

But, you want a new car....

Prior to buying a new car, might as well consider reading an article I found recently. According to it, Hyundai and Kia 'fessed up to fudging the numbers on gas mileage, resulting in lawsuits, customer resentment and a Hyundai repayment program compensating owners. So far, it's gone over well as repaid Hyundai owners are fairly content with the compensation. You can figure out how to get a loan for a car that works for you.
