Default what is a good first car for $1000-$3000

i need a first car for up to 3 grand

it has to be standard

what do you want to use the car for, go back and forth to work/school? Haul garbage or other things that wont fit in the back of a car? Answer these questions then the answer would be clear.

Most used early 90's hondas can be a good choice, older toyota pickups seem to last forever...just get on usedcars.com or a similar site and start searching for a car within your price range...

yeah, just get an old fuel effecient car that gets at least 30 mpg.... youll be set

My first car was a ford Fiesta, and it was a good car. So maybe that's a good idea?

That's good advice from pbasil1. My 93 civic was a great price, goes like hell, and does well over 30 mpg.
