Default fixing the HHR

So I think I'm going to fix the hhr atleast a little. Going to have my uncle help me.

1) power steering needs to get working. Need advice on how to fix this. Its electronic and fuse looks good.

1.5) change and top off fluids

2) pop quarter panel out so I can get fuel cap on

3) fix breaks so car doesn't pulse and shudder when stopping

4) inspect shocks and struts and replace if needed

4.5) clean interior

5) replace front fender with one that's already body color.

I owe $2,045 on this car still so I need to minimize expenses and maximize profit. Any advice would be great.

1) No clue.

1.5) Cheapest walmart fluid if your going to sell...if not I wouldn't skimp on an already abuse vehicle.

2) You used to be able to get body repair hammer/kit for dirt cheap at harbor freight.

3) This is probably just new rotors/turn rotors on the front brakes.

4) Do the old bounce test, on each corner get the car rocking really good, and see how much it keeps bobbing after you stop. I think they say if it makes 2x up/down then they are bad....personally I would drive it and if it drives fair, I wouldn't mess with it. Also look at each one for any leakage on the shocks themselves.

4.5) Upholstery cleaner...make sure to test on a small area, if you have access to a carpet cleaner with attachment hose might work too.

5) Craigslist and local junk yards are your friend. You could try to take it off and use the body hammers to straighten it out first(since you need them for the quarter panel.

Nothing at all. And definitely no power steering at all. Sucks making a turn at 15mph and extremely difficult even slower

Not sure where that is on this car. Had 3 guys look and couldn't readily see a reservoir.

That's what my research so far has shown. They give a bunch of fuses that could be blown. My uncle says the cobalt is the same as they had recalls on them for the power steering going out but no recalls for tge hhr

Yes, the HHR underneath is mostly Cobalt, and mine has the same setup...I will try looking in it and in the manual(for a cobalt). I need to do the stupid recall, 107,000 miles and never done it.

Well I decided not to fix the hhr and just sell it. Got $2500 pending having the title in hand asap. Not a bad deal I think.
