Default VW Polo

Hi I recently bought a VW Polo 1.4 75hp 2002 model.
Well it's slightly used it's ok for daily rides but i'd like to upgrade it.
Basically i want to increase acceleration.
I thought about increasing hp but since I'm newbie and don't know about that
stuff I thought i would ask someone who knows better.
Im willing to give 1000-2000$ to upgrade it thanks.

Should have bought a different car. You aren't going to squeeze much of anything out of that 1.4 with that budget, you'd be wasting your time.

I know it won't make big difference but wouldn't it still worth to increase hp a bit?

you won't significantly increase power on a 75 horse, 12 year old car.

Guys will spend 2k to increase horse power by 10% on cars that are well supported performance platforms. A 10% increase in power on your car is just 7.5 HP and your car is not as well supported. Better to sell it and put that couple grand towards a different car that is a good platform.
