Probably Nissan 240SX or something with lots of boost would be about your best shot.

Im not sure something like that exists or we would all have fast cars. Sub 10s car is freakin quick! Thats going to be over 600whp, which as far as i have seen cant be had for anywhere near 15k.

Buy a bike.

Buy a motorcycle.

I had about 15K into my "budget build" SR powered Nissan 240SX, and all of the difficult work was done by myself including modifying and integrating the engine harness with the LHD chassis. When completed my car was in the low 11 second range, and even then using carefully chosen second hand parts was the only way I kept the build from skyrocketing in price. The hundreds of small purchases needed add up quickly!

Again, build a motorcycle.

It isn't that hard I have an lq4 which was only 900 for a long block with harness and all accessories, I got a 260z in great shape for $600. Right there I will already be mid 110 and that is 2k in. The car only weighs 2500lbs. The engine can easily hand north of 8th on stock internals. So if I get a turbo off a turbo diesel for 1k or less it's easy.

Thats what I was going to suggest.

LQ4s are a dime a dozen and will take big boost before they blow, you could rinse and repeat a few times for less than $15k.

Hell theres a Maverick with a 115k mile stock internals Ford 300 in it and an International turbo running 10s quarter miles. Its done them reliably for the last four years. Theres no way it cost anywhere near $15k.

If I were you, I would follow 94 Mazda RX7, 15k and I think you need more 5k for addition. That is a best choice!

Lol no. As an owner of a rotary engine, unless you have a lot of money to piss away, they weren't made for drag racing.

You could buy a stock e30 swap the engine to... a s52 i believe. With just the swap you could run 0-60 in 3-5 seconds. The car is really light and if you put more into it... it will destroy almost every single car on the highway including the $100k cars.

e30 + s52 swap = about $10k in total. That's if you do everything yourself.

I have a friend who owns a e30 and swapped it with a s52. The car is mainly a track car because it's basically an engine on wheels. Doesn't have air bags, doesn't have AC, doesn't have any back seats, etc.

He hasn't lost a street race yet.

He spent most of his money on suspension. I believe he gets anywhere from 500-550 whp. I forgot. But since it's so light... it smokes everybody.

500-550 whp won't get you a 3-5 second car.
