Default Best vehicle for my parents

Ok so my mom and stepdad are looking to buy a new vehicle after their 2010(they bought new) Town & Country has fallen apart on them(its a pile and so is Dodge).

Ideally what they want is a Town & Country layout that can pull occasionally their 3800 lbs pontoon....clearly not within that spec.

So things it must have:
New Vehicle(they have had very bad luck with used so its off the topic)
4wd/Awd
Tow capacity of at least 4800 lbs
Seating for at least 7
Fuel Economy that meets or exceeds current van(it averages 17.9 mpg)
Price after rebates and such needs to be around $40,000.

So far they have looked at:
Traverse(weren't fond of interior)
Tahoe/Suburban(3rd row was unusable to adults)
Expedition(liked, but dealership pulled some stunts and they walked away)
Explorer(Requires adding a weight distributing hitch to trailer to meet towing)
Flex(over like but I told them two capacity would be maxed out)
Kia Sorento(said it felt cheap and not up to par)

So all other suggestions? I really don't care or buy foreign cars so I don't watch their SUV's, maybe you guys can suggest some vehicles that compete with those above?

Here's a couple foreign cars that come to mind:

Nissan Pathfinder
Volvo XC90

I find MSN Autos' search/refinement tool is pretty good, check it out: Car Finder - Autos - msn

My Buick Enclave AWD fits the bill. Basicly a Traverse with much nicer interior. Probably closer to 50k depending on trim level.

So they wouldn't look at buick, cuz they hate traverse....

Volvo they liked, but won't budge on price and with Awd its over $45,000.
Pathfinder felt cheap.
They don't want a dodge product....imported from Italy...so Grand Cherokee and Durango are out.

I hate toyota....but will tell them about the highlander....the Sequoia is out of the price realm.

It's a bummer they won't look at used, there's 2010-2011 XC90's with like 25-40k miles selling for like $25k all around you.

Durango is built in Detroit at the Jefferson North plant. Used to be built at Newark in Delaware...not okay with an Italian owned American company but okay with a Japanese company?
