Default The new GT350R and the new GT

So at NAIAS they revealed the new GT350R and Ford GT

500bhp N/A 5.2L FPC v8

600+bhp TT 3.7L v6

God yes. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Finally they get it. Big power V8 muscle with an IRS and a sleek highly tuned mid-engine racing MONSTER.

Looks like ford is slowly getting with the program! Im excited to see what this V6 can do/handle.

Its getting flamed like crazy, cause most Americans want a big V8, which with todays technology is just unnecessary and wasteful. The Nissan GTR is a great example. But, i think 600hp is a bit on the low side for todays exotic cars... Most top end exotics are over 1000hp from the dealer, and most are 800hp+. But if the car is light enough and balanced well, it will be awesome!

There'll be *****ing and moaning about the V6 for sure. I like it though.

What I am hoping for is a lightened version (just carbon fiber everything) with better handling. I'd rather have that around $150k or cheaper than a 1000+hp $250k car.

This is great news! Go Ford!

I'm tremendously impressed with Ford as of late - That's saying something because I'm very much a chevy-leaning buyer.

GM needs affordable high performing cars.

They need to put the 130R into production, and they need a real Sonic/Cruze RS with 300 hp.

Agreed! I liked the Sonic a whole lot, but even the RS didn't offer enough excitement for me to bite. At that price, there's a lot of better options like the Fiesta ST.

Yeah ford will be laying the smack down next year with the Focus RS comming to merica. Just in time to fill the "void" that the Lancer Evolution will be leaving behind. Im very excited to see what it offers exactly as details are still up in the air.

I dont think chevy has the funds to try and push into the limited market of AWD sport cars and hot hatches. Its a relatively small niche market, and very centered around performance for low cost, and GM is very focused on the Corvette and CTS/ATS- V platform, which is good, cause those cars are awesome.

Really waiting to see the engine pics and internals on the 350r. As for these ecotecs I'm hoping they did some major redesigning on the aluminum block cause I'm not a fan.
