Default intoxicating fumes from heater

I was given my grandma's 01 maxima, and it has been meticulously taken care of. I turned the car on tonight with no problem and turned the heater on. I immediately noticed an eye watering and lung filling smell. I couldn't stop myself from coughing. I know it wasn't CO2 because I always have my CO2 alarm on my and it didn't go off. I am still coughing and this happened about 20 minutes ago, help me diagnose this problem, thanks.

The heater core is leaking. You are breathing antifreeze fumes, not good for you.

Get it replaced ASAP.
