Default Possible switch up to more track-focused car

So the WRX is great but I want to try to get into some track days, especially at the Circuit some more. My main concern is that I'm going to have to pour too much money into the car to get the power and handling I would want. I also think having RWD would be a pretty big plus. Some of the cars I've thought of:
  • C5 Corvette
  • 2JZ/1JZ-GTE swapped manual Lexus SC
  • BMW 540i
  • Mustang GT (2005+)
  • S2000
  • Turbo/supercharged miata
  • Pontiac GTO
  • 240sx with KA24DET or SR20DET
  • Cadillac CTS-V

So that puts me in the neighborhood of 5-15k(ish). This would also be my daily.

The only one of these I've driven myself is the S2000 which of course is an excellent track car, but lacking in power and a little tough as a daily driver.

What are your thoughts? Any other suggestions?

You should do a Miata LS swap, those look cool as hell

Great idea, but incredibly hard to find. I'm not looking to do any swaps or major customization myself.

Porsche 944 might be a fun option to throw in there. Inexpensive, quick, excellent handling, rwd, and you can shoe horn an ls motor in there if you get bored.

C5: Yeah, but probably not very daily-able
Lexus SC - no opinion
BMW 540i - if you can get one in good shape with a solid cooling system, and afford to maintain it
Mustang - well, its a mustang
S2k - no opinion, i can't fit in em.
Miata - hard to daily drive
GTO - i'm in the same boat
240SX - Good luck finding one
CTS-V - You'd be looking at the 1st gens, whcih means LS6 (meh) or LS2 (yes). These also have a lot of rear end issues which aren't really fixable.

You might consider a G35 or G37...
