Default 1970 Chevy C20 (?) Pickup....eh?

Thats not the one I'm looking at, but its pretty close to how it looks. Its dark blue instead of black, it sits about the same height though and it looks about the same outside condition.

The body is in good shape, I haven't heard it run since it was sitting in the Lowes parking lot (they will let you park them in the back as long as it has a "For Sale" sign on it purchased from them and you pay them $50 a month) and it was just put there this weekend.

I hate the 1975 -> 1987 and 2000+ bodies of Chevy/GMC trucks, but I'm in love with the 1972's and older.

My question- if all is in good running order (which wouldn't be a problem finding that out at all, so no lectures please- I've had my fun with turning VW Bugs into dune buggies and helping my uncle with engine/tranny swaps and such ), clear title, no cracks in problem areas, so on and so forth, decent miles, would it be a good buy for $2800?

From the looks of it, the guy just slapped on a paint job, some new wheels/tires, and put it up for sale. I coulda popped the hood to see what was in it, but I didn't think about it at the time. (I was surprised the doors were unlocked, but older trucks have the release under the hood anyway)

And the reason why I said "C20 (?)" is because no where on the truck could I find what it is. Its definatly 3/4 ton, and its got a monster rear end on it that doesn't look like it came from a 1/2 ton, so unless he swapped it out I don't think its a C10. My uncle disagress with me, and *thinks* that the only C20's were 4x4's. If someone can shed some light on it, mucho thanks.

*edit*

Its a C20.

Thats a nice looking truck, i say if all is well, then 2800 seems like a decent price. Especially if it has a few aftermarket parts (under the hood primarily). It would surely make a nice project truck to maybe drop and hot rod some. I wish you luck on the purchase of the truck if all is in good shape.

AAAAAAAAH.

It sold yesterday for $2200.

Out of curiosity, I asked him what, if anything, was wrong with it, he said that all it needed was a few minor things (oil change within the next 150 miles, AC need recharged, and he said it wouldn't pass inspection because of a cracked windshield [which I didn't see])

*edit*

Said 1200 instead of 2200 by mistake

Ouch... That would have been a sweet deal if you could have landed it. I'm a fan of the older picks as well, probably wll never get one though. I need to be able to move people....

That is a pitty that you missed it, but it is not a c10 by any means, and C doesnt stand for 4x4's it stands for 2x4's and that there is either a C20 or a C30, Id bet it is a C20 though, might have had a 402 BBC in it, which would have been a nice find.
