Default Is there any way to disable the warning sysytem on my truck?

I just got my new truck, so now I have lots of questions. Whenever I insert my key into the ignition with my seatbelt off, or with the driver door open, the warning sysytem sounds this really obnoxious buzzing. Is there any way to disable this?

All you have to do is pull the buzz-box out. All it is is a little black box under the dash (SHOULD be on the driver side, close to the kickpanel). Make it do it continuous and follow the sound and pull it out.

Well, I found the box. It has a ton of wires going to it - which do I pull out? Ideally, I would like it to buzz when I leave the headlights on, but not when I leave the door open, or my seatbelt off. Is this possible?

I think it is possible. If you take a picture I think I can help you better. There should be 1 or more ground wires (usually black). Measure the voltage across one of those and the othr wires one at a time with your seatbelt off, door open and key in the ignition. Whichever has voltage across it, you pull. Just make sure your lights arent on.

OK, I'll try that, and I'll post a photo tommorrow. I have a voltage meter, but to check voltage, do I need to cut through the wire insulation? Also, by pull, do you mean cut?

Well, you did say pull in the previous post, so I assumed that there were little plug on the end. You will need to find somewhere to contact the wires. You might want to upen the buzzer box.
