Default 2008 Audi TT

http://www.cars.com/go/features/auto...uction_audi_tt

What do you guys think of this new TT? I thought the old one was a bit round and dated (it's been out for a really long time as model life-cycles go) but when I first saw Fifth Gear testing this car I was shocked at how much I loved it, in fact as of right now this is in the #1 spot for my most desired first car, most likely with a 6 speed stick and either the 2.0T or maybe a 3.2L V6 but only for the V6s AWD.

A bit of off topic but I'm taking my license test THIS FRIDAY! (August 25) I'm so happy. But of coursre I'm not rushing out and buying a TT or anything else, I'll probably drive my parents' 1991 300E for a while and maybe buy a car when I graduate high school in 2 more years.

Also, while this may not be even near practical, my #2 most desirable car is the new BMW Z4 M Roadster (yes the hatchback one) since the original M Roadster was my favorite car as a kid, my neighbor had a silver one and I thought it was the coolest thing ever lol.

Is that what the BMWis called?, because roadster != coupe. The Z3 was called the M Coupe. And oh yes, 6-speeds are awesome.

Yea I think you meant the coupe not the roadster, coupe has the hardtop and is a hatchback.

I love the BMW Bulldogs, but lets face it, the TT hatch is much cooler.

That doesn't seem to have as many curves and lines as the usual BMW, It has good simplicity, but I like the lines and "sarcastic" curves of the mean looking beamers.

Eh, my only gripe on the TT is the drivetrain.

It's Quattro AWD...which I heard is basically FWD until one of the wheels start to slip.

This would make for a pretty boring car...all you'd ever get is understeer when you push it to the limit. I remember watching Tiff Needell drive a new beefed up high performance model of the TT from Audi and a 350Z...and of course with the Z you could powerslide and throw it around however much you want, thanks to its rear wheel drive. The TT just understeered through the corners when he pushed it.

Don't get me wrong, the TT is an awesome looking car just not the most exciting one.

BMW's are all rear wheel or full time all wheel drive, and usually the center differential on AWD sports cars is geared 40/60 or so front rear torque distribution, making for a rear wheel drive type car. I know even Jaguar does that on its cheapest models.
