Default Top 10 Scariest New Car Features

This cracked me up. I've seen some features that I could live without on newer model cars, but I have to wonder about the engineers who dream these up - and even more about the companies that put them on actual cars!

10. Rain-Sensing Wipers

9. Soda Can Cool Zone

8. Smart Transmission

7. Power-Sliding Doors

6. Multi-Manual Owner's Booklets

5. Self-Parking Cars

4. iDrive

3. Voice Turn-by-Turn Navigation

2. Heart-Rate Monitor

1. Overly Aggressive Seats

Overly aggressive seats? What are you supposed to do with an aggressive seat much less an one that is overly so?

Don't know if you read the link, but they were refering to the massage chairs in the BMWs and the active side bolsters in some of the Mercedes.
Up where I live I like the heated seats myself, and I admit I like the memory feature to store the settings if you have different drivers sharing a vehicle, but that's about it for me.

This is so true, my wife thinks the Buick Reattas are so cool, and how she would like me to get one and rebuild it, but I cringe at the thought, because there are so many electronic gizmos on that car, and being that it is basically 20 years old, yikes.

Hands down Dodge's air conditioned glovebox. Dumbest feature ever. Useless.

And rear backup cams. Sweet to have, but where's the usefullness. You have mirrors and you can turn around if need be.

I remember when I was working at an Audi dealer in the '70s the 5000 had a driver seat memory.

This guys little kid, 'bout 6 years old, moved the seat all the way forward and saved that position. After he finished playing around in Dad's car he moved the seat back to where he thought it should be. Obviously his short legs couldn't judge where that was, so he just put it close.

Well Dad, 6' + gets in and the seat is too far back for him. He hits the seat memory and the seat moves forward..........and doesn't stop until his knees are mashed into the dash and the steering wheel into his chest.

For most cars, yes, but I can see them being useful for trying to parallel park a hummer or a lifted truck or something where you really can't see where the car behind you is.

The cooling glovebox seems really stupid, until you go on a long trip, it was actually pretty cool to be able to toss a couple sodas in there on a 10 hour trip and just reach in and get it, but for everyday 30 minute commutes, it was pointless. We had it in a rental car while one of our vehicles was being repaired.
