Default Lambo could make millions!

Lambo Could Make Millions!

Lambo make some of the best looking cars around, there blend of pure power and amazing performance brings shivers down the spine of every true car enthusiast.

But for many of us mere mortals, a Lambo is the thing of dreams. So why havenít they cashed in on a simple yet affordable version of the amazing Gallardo. They could keep the fiery looks but offer a basic interior, and a simple engine, helping to push the price down.

People might say that this would be spoiling the image of owning a Lambo, but how many people have Ferraris, yet everybody still dreams of owning one. If Lambo could start making money then they could work on releasing more cars like the Revnton.

All we can do is wish.

A cheaper version of this!

hm, I think just downgrading the Gallardo would be a mistake. BUT if they made a small Lambo-esque Roadster to compete with a porsche boxster...then hell yeah, they'd cash in big, look at porsche, they went from rags to riches with the Boxster.

I haven't Dynoed it yet, but I'll estimate around 280-300RWHP.

It would be a mistake, part of the mystique with owning a Lamborghini is that you are part of an exclusive club. If you look over and see joe blow with his yellow teeth and mullet driving one, you are going to probably sell your car and buy a Bugatti. Look at the Corvette, the ZR-1 is one awesome machine but a standard C6 look pretty much just like it, you might pay 100,000 for it but when the entry level if 30k it lowers the overall standard some, which is why Dodge doesn't make a cheaper version of the Viper.

Lamborghini has more than just cars under their belt, they make other products too, the flagships are the cars though. That is why they should not and will not make a low end 'cheap' car.

A cheap lambo defeats the purpose all Lambo's are not just hand built but hand crafted each person takes alot of pride in there work and all Lambo's are test driven by the same guy that's been driving them for over 30 years. The only way to get a car with this kind of TLC is to hire a team to engineer a car from scratch then take years to build it yourself.

I think it depends...are they out to maximize cash flow in the short term, or keep an enduring legacy alive? I think the choice is pretty easy, particularly when "enduring legacy" equals long-term garenteed money.

They won't do it, they have no reason to do it. Lamborghini sells to an exclusive clientel and they are not going to water down their legacy with some washed up car as slow as a Boxster....

And before the "WTF THE BOXSTER ISN'T SLOW" uh, yeah, to a Lamborghini running circles around it, it is.

Lambo won't do it for a much simpler reason. Audi owns them, and Porsche owns VAG, so in a way Porsche owns Lambo, and Porsche doesn't want competition for it's Boxster. As it's the most sporty luxurious roadster out there.

i was thinking about this to make a affordable cars they would be looking at a 1 billion dollar investment which could bankrupt the entire company.

Needed Land, Factory, Automated equipment to make mass production affordable, programming, research and development, designing, engineering, testing, certifications, employee's, raw material, and advertising. Even though the land building investment money and robotics could be financed the monthly over head would increase so much in a already questionable market that this would likely spell DOOM for the company. I would estimate building a assembly line properly equiped to make this come true at 750mil alone. I'm afraid that if you want a affordable Lambo with the same looks less engine and interior you should have a kit car built from a Fiero or MR2.
