The Eagle Talon TSi is turbocharged with 205 hp and has all wheel drive. The ESi is not turbocharged with 140 hp and has front wheel drive. So the difference is that one is fast and has really good handling and the other isn't and doesn't.

If it is turbocharged then you have the TSi

The 2nd gen Turbo DSM's make 210HP,

And there are three different talon models for the 2G's, not two

The Esi is not turbo, with a 420A motor (same as Eclipse RS and GS)

The Tsi is the 2.0L 4G63 Turbocharged engine (same as Eclipse GST)

then the Tsi AWD is the 4G63 engine, and AWD of course (same as Eclipse GSX)

Do you have a turbo? You'll know if you do. If you don't, then show me a picture of your engine bay and i'll tell you.

Assuming you have a turbo, can you launch the car from 3500PRM with out losing traction? Then you have AWD. Does your steering wheel pull left and right a little when WOT? Then you have FWD.

But i'm guess that you don't have a turbo, since you aren't sure. You really would know if you had one

lots of good info here

PS: post more pictures of your car. Good to see another DSM around here

I don't know much about Talons or Eclipses, but doesn't the bulge on the hood mean its turboed?

nope, all models of all DSM's have the bulge.

There are not many ways to visibly tell which is which. the AWD eclipse have a higher wing (although many people without AWD put that wing on their car)

the 95-96 Turbo Eclipses (like mine) have a gray trim around the bottom of the car. Non-turbo were just one solid color. However, talons were not this way. So it depends. But really there's no way to tell from the outside of the car (unless you get underneath the car... AWD models have more going on down there than FWD).

all models of DSM's have the same hood. there is no such thing as a "turbo hood"

And if you're planning on going with a turbo setup, it is my strong recommendation that you ditch your current car (and 420A motor) and get talon Tsi or Eclipse GST (or the AWD variants if you have the money to do so)

the Turbo DSM's are a much more solid base for getting power out of your car. you'll spend a lot of time and cash for parts, and more cash when parts break, just to make your non-turbo 420A as fast as a stock Turbo DSM.

If you really plan on going turbo, do yourself a favor and buy the car with the engine that was built from the factory to be turbocharged. you'll have a much better experience.

There is $0.02 from my pocket for ya
