Thumbs down The Mini Clubman? Why?

Minis have always been iconic cars, a small hatchback that is entwined in automotive history. BMW took over, and the Mini came back into production. It is still “small” (just) and very comfortable. The mini cooper offered a simple city car for the middle class wife to trundle through town with her shopping. The Mini One offered the young executive a feeling of speed and power; and gave mad car enthusiasts with tire-fitter haircuts the licence to pimp there ride.

So what happened with the mini clubmen? For a start what is it, it looks more like a child’s drawing of a train then a car. They are selling it as a family car. What? If you wanted a family car you would buy a Ford Focus, an Audi A4 or even a Skoda, not the Mini clubmen. Perhaps BMW want Mini to go under, or maybe their designers where drunk at the time. Whatever the reason the Mini Clubmen is the most ridiculous car of the year.
And looking to the future, the new concept doesn’t look any better.

There are those who are looking for something that looks like a mini but isn't 'as mini', so to speak. To me, it is not worth the money, better off buying a Scion than the Clubman, especially when you look at the price of the tires and oil changes.

What's wrong with the Clubby? I like them more than a Cooper..

Well, you wouldn't have caught me dead in either - I'm 6'2".

But really, the clubman looks like the minicooper minus everything that made the cooper cool.
