Default new Mustang?

As y'all know I drive a 2008 Focus. I'm sick of the Car Payments and insurance, so I'm looking at either a 98 mustang GT Hard Top

or

a 97 GT Convertable (base)

I'm leaning towards the first one, I really like the body kit. I'm going to check them out tomorrow when I can Drive again.

Opinions?

Man you just don't listen stay away from FORD! If you do go ford I would bring it to a alignment shop and have them inspect the car it may drive fine but GT's usually get ragged on and twist the unibody after a few years.

Lautinjr, the only problem I've had in 3600 miles is the clutch sensor, but it stopped turning on ('m beginning to think it was my driving not a bad sensor) GDF, they both have over 100K mile.s the 98 GT has 108K

I could get a dodge ram 1500 for 2200, or a chevy silverado for 2500.

Preach on GDP this entire forum told him not to buy the Focus and he bought the focus and regreted it. Now he's trading a brand new car for a older mustang that's not the best bet either plus older mustang's are decieving you don't know how the last guy treated it hell these days people think there taking care of a car but truthfully don't know how to. Yes true I hate Ford except that they keep me fat and rich Gm isn't much better tell you the truth I work on everything the only cars I don't see regually is honda and toyota I might get 1 a week.

Atleast that was new, I mean its fine since I learned how to drive stick and get rid of my lead foot (I've done 140 miles and I'm not even halfway between half and 3/4 of a tank. Its not even worth selling anymore. the dealer who has the mustang in the pic was bunch of pricks, and they said my focus wasn't even worth 6 grand (I left good size marks on their pavement as I left) The ford dealer that took over the one I got mine from (dealer closed) spit out 10K without asking mileage or anything. so I guess I'm stuck with it. guess I have a project to make it better. Although I do laugh at what my dad says "why try to mod a Focus, its just a Ford." after he said "I wouldn't mind one of those if it had any options (Mine doesn't even have ABS or traction control)"
