Default I found the car I want.

so I was watching the first fast and the furious today, I've always liked the Eclipse in the beginning, and I looked on e-bay for one. I have 2 questions:

1) are they semi-reliable (more so than what I've gone through with my car now). I see that all of the bids on them are under 1K.

2) The one I'm looking at is at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cars-...3A1|240%3A1318

it has a OBDII code: 0352.I haven't been able to pull anything up on google, but I'm not really trying. is his assumption is it is camshaft position sensor or bad ignition coil. are those easy to change or no? can you tell if that one is AWD or turbo (hopfully both )

thats a REALLY high milage car man. If your set on getting one find one with lower miles heh. Plus you realize this is in NC right? You would have to drive like 1.2k miles just to get here.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cars-...3A1|240%3A1308 <- isn't bad, but my car is so worthless right now that I only have about 2-3K I can spend on a new car. 6 months old, 4400 miles = 10K. Old car = 5 years old, 34K = 8K.

I regret buying that focus when I saw how fast the trade in value went south. Not to mention the problems I have had with it! (Shutup!) I'd rather get something with AWD and I miss having a turbo to get me around. plus High ass insurance and car payments suck. BADLY

ya I would changre the ciol about the only other thing would get that code would be a bad ciol driver in the CPU but even on a 95 a CPU wouldn't be that expensive or difficult to buy and install. They were good cars but the engine liked to leak and burn oil if not meticilouslyn taken care of but even still usually run good.

if I kept the oil up in it would burning oil be fixable with a head gasket or possibly new piston rings? and my old car leaked everytime it got an oil change. even the 2 dealers I took it to didn't get the filter on right because of the placement of the filter.

Yes but not cost effective the car is nice body wise and from looking at the pics it would be a great project car but the mileage and the fact it doesn't look well kept under the hood I don't know if I would buy it for a daily driver probably more a project car to build a engine and tranny for. The burning oil from these cars was usually the valves it's repairable but probably cost more to do right at a shop then the cars worth. If you did it at home it would save about 2/3rds the cost. Plus he noted doesn't smoke meaning he knows that's a common problem on these motors and he wants to make sure you know the problem isn't there that's a plus.
