Default 2002 Jetta GLS 2.0L

What "upgrades" would you guys recommend for my 02 Jetta GLS 2.0L?

Is it even worth an upgrade (cosmetic/performance)?

Thanks

Anything is "worth" an upgrade if YOU like it. After all its YOUR car. Im not exactly sure about jettas but I know most cars can benefit from a cold air intake and a computer tune.

Good luck with it.

I thought about the cold air intake but others seem to suggest that having my engine chipped would be better in terms of performance.

I just wanted to know what you guys think would be best

Most stage 2 chips require aftermarket exhaust and a cold air intake plus lower temp t-stat to meet the power goals

Interesting... I will most likely start off with the cold air intake in that case especially since it doesn't cost that much

Hahaha, that's my motto

Slow 'n Low!

I don't mind it as the 2L so far (had it for +2 years now) it has not had any huge problems apart from the usual tune-up required. Very reliable model and I am very please with it. I want something more, but in the meantime while I am in school this is perfect for me.

I have a project car now (rabbit) so we'll see

Totally giving it a sleeper look to it hahahaha I want to pull up to ppl with a 2L 16v and just smoke em lol

your best bet is to do a motor swap. you will dump a lot of money into a 2.0l to make it fast and it will still be slow. Look into 1.8t swaps or VR's if you want to spend more cash. If you dont want to make it fast invest in some coilovers and a nice set of wheels and slam it.
