![]() i have recently noticed that MPG on my speedometer is showing some funny measure
for example when i reset the trip control the MPG is reset it MPG start from 10 mile per gallon and if i drive in the city it drop down to 8 mile or even 6 mile per gallon(it is not lambo) but if i go to highway it will go up again to like 23 mile or 24 mile in motorway that is to low ,because renault megane is claiming that megane II should give at least 32 MPG ,urban driving and about 50MPG in highway i also want to add that point that whenever i stop in the traffic down the MPG will drop for example when i reset it it is 10mpg then if i stop at traffic light it will drop to 7 mpg i hope i have gave u enough information can any one tell me what could be wrong with it? |

![]() There are a variety of reasons that your MPG could be lower. How many miles does your car have on it, first off?

![]() Have you considered that maybe the trip computer is screwed up and that there's nothing wrong with your car at all? Just calculate it manually ... my 300C's trip calculator is usually way off too. When you fill it up, remember how much you put it in, and reset the little trip odometer, and when it's empty again divide the two and see your actual MPG (A bit inaccurate though).

![]() Yeah my guess is the cars ECU or the whatever controls the MPG reader is messed up and sending wrong readings. Are you having to fillup faster or anything of that sort? And thats too few miles for there to be MPG issues under normal conditions.

![]() Hi!
I have a Renault Megane Coupe and needed a new ignition coil recently, it was fitted for £96.08 (£30 labour, £38.55 ignition coil, £15.00 code read + VAT); it seems a bit too much as they said it would cost around £60-70; I am concerned as the car had same problem a year ago (when it was under warranty) - I wonder if I will have this every year (or often)... maybe I should buy a different car! Anyone having teh same problem? Thanks CS |

![]() Well, assuming it's a 4-cylinder (I know nothing about that kind of car) chances are they already replaced both coils, so you should have two new ones at least. lol
I would mainly be concerned if they replaced the same coil twice...that could be an indication of some bizzare short or something that was over time damaging the coil.
