Default pizza delivery dude

So, I'm about to start delivering pizzas for my job. The problem is, I don't want to ruin my dodge stealth. I found a pretty respectable place not to far from my house that I'm willing to buy from. The only problem I'm having is spotting a good vehicle for said purpose. basically, the delivery area is about 20-25 minutes all around and I'll have to stop and start the engine a lot.

here is the criteria:
Can't be over $6g
Must be able to finance it (only want to put down about $1200)
Has to be suitable for this job

I was thinking this http://www.autotrader.com/dealers/dd...0&cardist=6532. I know the gas mileage isn't super good, but it seems like a solid vehicle.

here is the dealers website if you guys want to browse their inventory and find something that would be better.

I respect your opinions as you are more then likely 100% more knowledgeable on the subject. Thanks for your time and I appreciate your help in advance.

No way I would pay pretty much 6k for a 98 V6. You could get a GT for about 1-2k more. I would get a honda civic or something.

See, I was thinking of going the Honda direction myself. I just kept second guessing myself. I know that price is absurd as well, I mean that is practically 2k more then what you'd expect. that is why I've come here for advice.

Agreed, assuming it's not going to be your "cool car" that you mod, pick up friends with, etc, I wouldn't get a mustang...like GDP said, I'd go for a civic, camry, or accord. You could probably find something usable for around 4k if you look hard enough - for 6k you should be able to find something in pretty decent shape.

This is the only vehicle that fits the criteria. it is a standard which is great in the sense that I can save a wee bit of gas, but it can be a bugger when you gotta use the cell or check a ticket for an address. 5k for 85k miles sound reasonable enough?

$500 more and more mileage, probably not a better buy. posting just to show you guys to get a second opinion. its either this or the previous post.

The vast majority of pizza delivery vehicles that I see are either small honda's, toyota's, VW's, or eclipses. Most are usually pretty beat up too.

The aim with them would be cheap, fuel efficient, and reliable of course.

Have you tried using craigslist or cars.com to search for vehicles? Craigslist always seems to have plenty of cheap vehicles for sale around here.

I'm aiming to go through a dealer since I don't really trust what craigslist has to offer. I need to build credit anyways and I'd much rather buy a vehicle that has to be good as opposed to what someone is just trying to get rid of.

That's interesting that you'd trust a dealer before you'd trust someone on CL. I see it the other way around. Especially now there are plenty of people looking to turn their cars into cash.

I like that, looks really good condition for as old as it is. Low miliage too for a civic. I would go see this one in person and test drive it, a few times.

I would rather get one through a dealer as well, even a used car lot. For a few reasons.

1. If they sell you a lemon, you have legal recourse.
2. Usually come with a 30 day warrenty or something of the sorts
3. Not likely to be a scam, something craigslist of chaulk full of.
