Unhappy What is wrong with Rodeo?

My 97 Isuzu Rodeo quit running while on my way to work last week. Came to a stop at a stop sign and without warning just cut off, no sputtering or anything. The lights stayed on, just engine cut off. Later i came back after leaving it and it cranked right up, until i came to another stop, then did exactly as before. I checked every fuse in the fuse box under the hood, and inside the car. I checked for a spark and there is none, except for when it decides to start. I have coil on plug ignition, so it cannot be a distributor or anything else like that. The only things that i can come up with is that it is the ignition controle module or the crankshaft position sensor. The ICM is getting 12volts from the pcm when ignition is in the on position, and the coils are also getting power. I pulled the crank sensor and tried to check it but could not figure out how to check the operation.
I also have an alarm with a remote start built into it. It has a kill switch to prevent it from being started when it is activated and also when it is running without a key, it is wired into the brake light to cut off the engine when you tap the brakes. I lost the remote to the alarm about a year ago, but the hardware is still hooked up.

Please help.

doesnt really like the alarm is the problem how long have had that alarm in your truck before it started happening, it's prolly the ECU had the same problem a few months back when you stop u have to keep it reved because the fuel distrubitor wasnt sending the correct amount of fuel to keep it running and would jsut shut off. hmm best suggestion i can make to make sure its not the alarm is to by pass it, but doesnt make sense for it to all the sudden start cutting the ignition. but if you lost the remote look for the serial on the main unit for you alarm and call the manufactuer with it and ask them if you can get a replacement remote. even though i really do think it's fuel related.

After it shut off could you try to crank it? If yes then most likely fuel related or ignition. Check your plugs first and then try and replace the fuel filter.

i know for a fact that it is not getting spark. I pulled the plug out and connected it to the coil and had somebody try to turn it over. The first time i did this, it started running (like it randomly does sometimes). When the motor quit, i had somebody try to turn it over again several times while i watched the plug, and it never sparked again.
The fuel filter was replaced recently, and i checked fuel pressure on the fuel rail and it is getting plenty of pressure.
The alarm was already on the car when i bought it two years ago. I have tried to find stereo places around here that will work on this name brand but nobody around here does. It is a "Black Widow" alarm system.
