Default SRT-1 On It's Way!!

Quote:
AP Automotive News - (Detroit) Chysler LLC has announced a partnership with Segway to create a gasoline powered Segway scooter capable of 0-60 times of 4 seconds, and the quarter mile in under 10 seconds, with a top speed of more than 140 mph. The single cylinder Segway scooter will be powered by a 300cc 2 stroke single cylinder engine with dual overhead cams and electronic variable timing, and an intercooled turbocharger to provide an extra performance boost where needed.

A spokesperson representing the project says the scooter will be called the "Segway SRT-1" and will cost between $8000 and $10000 initially. The SRT-1 will be available in blue, yellow, black, red, and white. A drivers license is not required to operate the scooter which makes this an excellent option for schoolchildren or grandparents who should not be driving an automobile.
This is interesting...

Wow let me get this straight.

0-60 in 4s. 1/4mi of 10s. 140mph+. And they say THIS:

lol, glad to hear that...I was getting a mental picture of my grandmother (who hasn't driven in nearly 15 years) burning rubber down the freeway in this thing.

It was quite funny, it ran the gammit from people who actually said they would buy it to shock and outrage over the audacity of anyone to build such a machine.

personally i think it would be fun, but that I would get killed.
