Default Fuel oil question

We have a backup car that is a 92 mercury topaz that we have parked(that I had run out of gas right before home ).My question was my brother decided to move it and put about a gallon of chainsaw gas in(oil and gas mix) and moved about 50 yards(we were cleaning the yard),well I was furious and asked him why in the world he would do that, and he said it prolly would not hurt.I seriously doubt this but I have to ask what are the consequences? And what should I do if it is bad?

No worries... it wont hurt the engine in any way! The only difference in that is that it has oil added to the gas. For a 4stroke motor, like your car, it just burns the oil off and the worse it will do it just foul the pluggs if you run mix gas in it for long periods... And actually it can add a little better lubrication to the cylinders, but dont start running oil in your gas from now on, you wont notice any difference!

Now if you were to put strait gas in a 2stroke motor that requires mixed gas... hah, that will cause problems! It will fry the motor because the only lubrication 2stroke motors have is the oil in the gas.

This is a v6 version of the car if that makes any difference.I think he did it because my dad couple years ago put chainsaw gas in our 2000 Lincoln LS v8 and not to long after we had problems, eventually we figured out the coils were bad.I believe they went bad because the gas though the Lincoln is a lot newer and higher quality car.Thx for the info,it puts my mind at rest I guess.

Ya no problem. Mixed gas in a regular gas engine wont hurt anything. So dont worry about it, just drive it down to the gas station and fill her up and shes good to go.
