Angry CRUSHING uninsured cars

DO you agree with crushing innocent uninsured cars? Me being an auto enthusiast I am sickened by what is happening in this country For those who don't know, in Britain if a car is found to be uninsured it is BRUTALLY CRUSHED without REMORSE. Here is an article which I have linked:

http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/uk-...ninsured-cars/

I mean, it's not as if people are gonna be driving recklessly just because they don't have insurance! And getting on the insurance ladder can be difficult in the first place when it costs 3500 at 17 (the legal driving age in the country) to become insured on a basic econo car.

From what I read they fine you first if your car is spotted driving without insurance. So it looks like they will give you a chance to get insured. I agree it is brutal. But so would driving an uninsured 500 dollar car into and destroying a new Ferrari.

Sorry weirdo but how is this being "made political"? It is about a situation in a foreign country, whos politics have nothing to do with America.

I can tell you EXACTLY what they do. There is no fine, if someone is caught then they must hand in the keys for their auto immediately and walk home.

On top of this, they have points added to their licence (6 points out of a total of 12, when 12 is reached a MINIMUM ban of a year is imposed).

Then if they get the insurance organised and collect the car before 24 hours they must pay 150 to have the car back.

For each day longer it takes, 20 is added to the fine. If they don't pay within a fortnight, the car is destroyed.

And if someone has no insurance, they are more likely to drive carefully and considerately, for fear of not wanting to have an accident.

There is nothing I hate more than the needless destruction of a perfectly workable and functioning and above all, INNOUCENT car.

I don't think he said it was political or that it was being made political.... He said "Don't make this political." As in a forewarning what not to do.

is that 3500 per year, month? thats a weee bit crazy that almost 6k here. when i was had car insurance it was 90 bucks (54.5) a month. that punishment is rather radical. so if a 160 people are killed by uninsuranced drivers whats the number that are kill by people who have insurance? the article seems very one sided.

I know, if someone doesn't have insurance it doesn't mean they are gonna drive recklessly. And yes whe3ls, that is thirty five hundred pounds for insurance on a standard car! The reason they can charge this much is because the government of their country has made insurance mandatory so the insurance companies can use all sorts of excuses to charge massive sums of cash!

Doesn't matter what country's politics, and i'm not saying this is political but it could easily become so.

What?
He was just saying how he felt. Good luck pre policing. Way to jump in there and make a comment that doesnt have anything to do with the OP. I was under the impression that this being a forum our thoughts and ideas could be expressed.

I just joined this forum thinking that I could give some advice. Then I see this pre censoring. WOW.
Have fun with that.
