Default Help with my 300zx

When Iturn the key all you hear is a click from the started relay.
Can anyone help?

Charge your battery and clean the battery leads with sandpaper.

Also make sure that your + lead to the starter is secured very tight on both the battery and the starter. Other than that hit it with a hammer used to work back in the day if it was having grounding issues

Hammers fix everything

Also, the old starter may just have a bad celenoid in it.

*solenoid one of those busted in my dad's chevy and it prevented the tranny from shifting out of second...easy fix at the dealer though.

a transmission solenoid and starter solenoid are two different types of solenoids and do two different things

Did you try the hammer yet? You would be surprised. I am old school but guess what I had a car that every couple of days required a starter pounding to get it going. It was a 1984 Olds cutlass.
