Default coolant recovery bottle

so I have a coolant recovery bottle / catch can.. and its BONE dry, should there be coolant in there (since it has the lines in on it), or it ok to be dry?

Should be dry, you shouldn't be leaking coolant... or am i missing something

theres a bottle by my radiator that has a sticker saying to add a 50/50 mix of motorcraft (I think) coolant... it connects directly to my radiator, and has a min and max line..

whoa yeah heh. Its an overflow bottle and will add and take coolant from the bottle as needed. Thats what that tube is for. There should be a fill line, fill it to that line.

Yes, keep it filled or you will introduce air into your cooling system which will create hot pockets ect.
