Smile What would you say?

What would you say if I said I've been thinking of converting the cavalier to rear wheel drive?

First thing I'd say is "You crazy sonnova..."

Then "....put a stick in it!"

Then "You better put a Tree Fiddeh down in thar"

then "When it's done, post a proper burnout and a few donuts as proof of success. Set it to Still Alive."

Then "You crazy sonnova..."

1984 Ford F150 | 4x2 | 300ci six | granny four | 3.55 rear end | 210K | Brakes shot. Rear drums are doing most of the work. Not fit to drive due to that.
1997 Ford Explorer XLT | 4.0L Vulcan V6 | 5-speed automatic | shift-on-the-fly 4WD | 210,000 miles | Running 95% - Needs brakes on all four corners + bald tires
1989 Ford F150 | 300cid six...again | 5-speed | 4x4 | 160K | Needs brakes done as well. Oi!

I'd say waste of money and get a RWD car.

I probably wouldn't do it but it would be nice to have a 2300lb small car with rear wheel drive. and i've been looking at the lay out I could do it for about 6500 that includes engine and drive train. Not like I have 6500 laying around thow.

That would be pretty cool. I've seen RWD conversions on GP's and the price tag is up near $15k if you can find/be given stuff. They're sick, which I'm sure the cavy would be too, but I would just buy a nice 4th Gen Camaro and get some mods into it and make it even faster.

I'd say it's not worth it.

Not worth it. And if you ever moved to a colder climate forget about driving in the snow.

It's kinda worth it for the set up I want to run I was thinking 3.6L DOHC G6 motor ($2500) with a Corvette rear trans and axles ($1500) I would have to do alot of fab work and a custom upper ad lower intake but I was try to make it look like a LS1 set up under the hood except dual cam and short 2 cylinders. This would be a easy 300hp rear wheel drive with 50/50 wieght split with out doing any internal mods.
