Default wanna drift an element?

IGN & edrift ran an article on a honda element that is moded to drift. personally i think the peeps at honda is either having too much free time on their hands and/or is high on something cause i just can't see any merit in it. still though, it'll be interesting to see an orange box car going sideways

If you've got the determination and the money you can modify just about any car to drift. I don't really see the allure in taking a FF and modifying it to be FR just to drift. Guess they just want the publicity.

Alas I do not own that RX-7. It is almost within my budget. I am currently saving for my first car. I am not sure if it is a good idea to get a car that fast as my first car as I may kill myself but what the hell I only live once. I just wish RX-7s were more reliable. I would probably wouldn't have so many reservations about buying one if I hadn't heard all the horror stories about blown apex seals and all kinds of other nasty things.

if you are saving up for your first car, i don't suggest you get something that old cause you'll need to spend quite a large chunk of $ to make it reliable, unless the previous owner took reallly good care and did a major tuneup before selling it. i suggest something more recent such as a miata/mx5 or s2000 if you're lucky

regarding going fast, i wouldn't worry too much about it unless you were born naturally with a lead right foot. i'll be more worry about you killing the clutch while learning to drive a stick

Yeah the reliability issue is the whole reason I am not going to be buying an RX-7 as my first car unless I find one hell on an unbelievable deal. Unfortunately all of the car dealerships in the Bozeman area massively overcharge for all their cars so I am going to have to find mine online. An S2000 is one of the candidates though. I want more power than the MX5 offers not that it isn't a great car.

bah, just throw in a dual stage turbo into the engine bay and the miata will scream. i also read some where before that someone dropped a small block v8 into one before, though i forgot where i got that info from. plus why you want all the ponies, weren't you afriad of going fast

Mal, if your looking for a first car, dont get an RX-7, they are badass race cars and all, but reliability is horrible, rotary engines are notorious for this. As you said, the apex seal blow if you bosst too much, and they wear much quicker than piston rings on a typical car.

An S2000 is an amazing car, if its in your budget, go for it. The car has soo much potentioal its mind bogling. They have awesome handling roght out of the box, and great speed performance too. Get some $$ under the hodd and youll go untouched on the road/track.

I am probably going to end up getting a Pontiac Trans AM WS6, Neon SRT-4, Eclipse GSX, 3000GT VR-4, Mitsubishi EVO, or a WRX. The EVO and VR-4 are unlikely but still possible.
