Default I'm going to die!

So today was the big "after snow freeze" from our blizzard last night.. So..

I didn't have a problem getting to school today at 10am.. I left at 5pm..

I started the car, it started harder than normal but started and didn't try to stall.

I hit the wiper fluid (this normally only sprays the fluid until I release the button) button, but the wiper and fluid were going at the same time... Then I learned two things..

1) My wipers DON'T WORK AT ALL.. That was GREAT to find out, I had to constantly jump out and wipe my window off..

2) I ran out of washer fluid.. it was full a week ago.. I think the accident created a leak in the reservoir.. that was nice..

I went to turn into a gas station to wipe my window off.. My brakes locked up, and I slid into a snowbank and got stuck.. That was AWESOME.. Luckly I was able to push myself out.

Left the gas station, got to turn on a side street, and my ass end gave out and I went sideways onto the street... Almost nailed a car.

Went to stop on the highway at the last light, and brakes locked up again, went 90 degrees sideway, came an inch from smacking the car ahead of me's ass end, and almost got hit in the driver side by the other lane..

Same light, I pulled over and helped 3 people out of the ditch.. one was backwards and IN the ditch all the way (about a 5ft drop)... I thought subaru's could do ok in snow?

I'm picking up a pair of replacement wiper blades tomorrow, and filling my washer tank again.. Santa better bring me a new pair of rear tires! (or I'm dead!)..

Anyone else ever have THAT much fun trying to drive in snow?!

Oh, the two most important things.

1) My car WILL NOT Heat up all the way, it gets 1/4 up the temp gauge and stops, even after 20 miles..

2) I'm averaging NINE milles to the gallon! I drained 1/4 of a tank in 36 miles!

I still plowed with it today though.

It's time to learn to pump our brakes before stopping.

last night on my way home from work i was in pretty heavy traffic going about 50 mph, and the light turns yellow. the lady in front of me is past the ice patch, so she slams on her brakes instead of going through the YELLOW light. I am on top of the ice patch, and so is the guy behind me in his F150. I started to try and stop but my brakes just locked up, i realized that if i kept going straight, i was going to rear end this lady really hard. so i looked at the left hand turn lane, and it was empty. I started turning there but kept going straight. so i pumped the brakes, which allowed me to turn into that lane. I missed Her car by inches, and ended up sideways in the intersection.... the guy behind me in the f150 barreled right into her. If i hadn't gotten into that left hand turn lane i would have been in the middle of that sandwich.

1985 Ford F150 | 4x2 | 300ci OHV inline six | 4-speed OD manual | 310K | No power brakes | Running 100% - It hasn't driven this good in 15 years!

1984 Ford F150 | 4x2 | 300ci six | granny four | 3.55 rear end | 210K | Brakes shot. Rear drums are doing most of the work. Not fit to drive due to that.
1997 Ford Explorer XLT | 4.0L Vulcan V6 | 5-speed automatic | shift-on-the-fly 4WD | 210,000 miles | Running 95% - Needs brakes on all four corners + bald tires
1989 Ford F150 | 300cid six...again | 5-speed | 4x4 | 160K | Needs brakes done as well. Oi!

EASE on the brakes and the gas... Do I need to come up there? LOL

Focus Cluff

Do you have more tread on your front tires than your rear tires? If so, SWAP THEM. Get some tire chains or cables, at least.
