Sounds kind of whiney and not as deep as the old mustangs (although I'm expecting that to change after it gets put into a mustang). Whats the redline in that thing? The video cut out after 6930, Over 7 grand? Damn!

It's a DOHC engine,. I have NEVER heard a DOHC engine have the deep rumble a pushrod engine does.

didn't know the new one was DOHC. Bring back pushrod!

Inorite? It even has V-TEC...or, well, Ford's variant thereof. Does the same thing. I will say that it sounds great, even if it a bit tinney.

As far as redline...bah, my guess is as good as yours. I'd say about 8,000 before things start flying, but who knows.

They're also claiming 25MPG. Ford's made some pretty dubious claims about MPG before. My F150 is rated for 30MPG highway, for example.....I'm lucky to get just over half that.


I'm predicting the Mustangs will get about 20MPG highway, 15MPG city, and 10MPG play. And that's with the six speed. The F150s will get slightly worse than that because A: Automatic only more than likely and B: Box shaped vehicles tend to drink more.

an auto only mustang? they just lost my respect. They underrated my focus, "play mpg" is what their regular mpg is, my regular is normally 10 or 11mpg above.

The mustang will be getting a six speed. You can opt for either a torque converter or a clutch connecting it to the crankshaft. The F150, however, is most likely only going to get a 4speed auto and six-speed auto. Just like now.
