Question The Caliber

Hi I am new here. I have been reading all these things about the dodge caliber that all have been saying. Well I own a driving school and was looking at the caliber to teach people to drive in because they no longer build a neon. I am not sure about the cvt transmisson how good is it really then I was doing a google search about the cvt and I found that 4 other car companys have it in there vehicles. I still have not found any information on the cvt transmisson if the belt brakes or any other thing about the cvt transmisson.

The CVT's are fairly new, and i do not know too much about them, other than how they work and similar stuff like that. So far they seem to be fairly durable. But as always, different companies use their own trannies. So Toyotas CVT may be better/worse than dodges... and so on.

The CVT gearbox has been around in Europe for over 30 years. Here are a few links that may give you an insight into what they are like in reality.

CVT1

CVT2

CVT3

CVT4

Hope this helps, Steve.
