Default Green Cars - The future?

Hi bros, here is an interesting collection of videos of "green" cars. Pretty interesting to see cars of various wierd shapes and sizes, and running on electric, hydrogen, stream and what have you.

I like green cars. Especially dark green, with black or grey trim and rims.

Personally, I think green driving is not looking into the future, but into the past. Small, 4-cylinder cars that have been on the road for 20+ years. It's actually better for the environment to drive a 20 year old Honda than it is a brand new Hybrid. The 20 year old car doesn't have those stupidly toxic battery packs directly under your ass, and by driving it you keep it out of a junkyard.

1985 Ford F150 | 4x2 | 300ci OHV inline six | 4-speed OD manual | 310K | No power brakes | Running 100% - It hasn't driven this good in 15 years!

1984 Ford F150 | 4x2 | 300ci six | granny four | 3.55 rear end | 210K | Brakes shot. Rear drums are doing most of the work. Not fit to drive due to that.
1997 Ford Explorer XLT | 4.0L Vulcan V6 | 5-speed automatic | shift-on-the-fly 4WD | 210,000 miles | Running 95% - Needs brakes on all four corners + bald tires
1989 Ford F150 | 300cid six...again | 5-speed | 4x4 | 160K | Needs brakes done as well. Oi!

Agreed. I guess I can see all-electric vehicles for short commutes once battery tech has reached an appropriate point, but hippie-hybrids are far more trouble than they're worth (besides the fact that the used batteries are arguably worse for the environment then emissions).

Yeah, we'd still need to find an environmentally friendly way to reprocess those battery packs from the electric cars when they wear out, tho. Otherwise we still have the dead battery problem.

Don't like green cars, the factories that make the internals might as well pollute the environment just as much as a regular car would during its entire lifetime.

yeah, imo if you're going to go green, either bike or take public transportation. yr ride's not really the answer. (unless yr looking to save some green at the pump.)
