Default 2010 Camry Brake Problems

This has happened twice now. Today I was driving and everything was fine. Parked the car, came back 2 hours later. Got in and noticed I was having trouble braking. I thought I may just be tired from just working at (was at the gym). As I drove I quickly realized that the brake helper/booster was not functioning. I was manually pressing the brakes. It came back after a little while, but not to its full operation mode.

What the hell is this?

Check to see if the vacuum line to the booster is plugged. Why there would be something in there this fast I couldn't tell ya. You could also have a defective booster, which aside from being an annoyance won't cause a crash...wait it's a Toyota, yeah I'd bring it to the Dealer and have them fix the brake booster under warranty.

Yup, brake booster is defective. Toyota better cover that under warranty, but i'm sure they're backlogged in the shop for a long time with all their other bullcrap.

If you do end up fixing the brake booster yourself, it's not terribly hard - I've done a couple myself. The part costs $40-$60 on most cars.

No reason warranty wouldn't cover that..

If they don't cover a defective booster under warranty, the dealer is doing some naughty things. Brake boosters typically last 10-20 years.

Edit: Retro, if you trust it to not run away and the typical driver is strong enough to stop it, you could simply overlook it. I've been my driving my F150 with a failed booster for quite a while now(Nearly a year). Aside from it being a bit harder to push the pedal down, it still stops just the same, and my braking leg seems to have built up a bit of extra muscle to compensate over time.

The focus is notorious for having leaking Clutch Master Cylinders after 5 or 6 years.
