Where do you live? What kind of features are you looking for in a car? Do you need AWD or FWD for winter?

Go on the site auto trader. You can put in a limit on how much you want to spend and search for cars by zip code. Early 90s civics, eclipses, CRXs, and preludes are all within your price range. All reliable cars and if you get the upper models some of them are actually pretty sporty.

Look for older models like 89-97 of honda, Mercury, Acura, Mazda, Chevy. Thats if your looking for something cheap and sporty. Other than that Chrysler, Buick etc. All of these older models make good school cars. There are a whole bunch to choose from, im just throwing some Tags at you.

All of the cars I listed are known for good reliability and if you get a Civic SI, CRX SI, Eclipse GST or GSX, or Prelude SI they are fairly fast as well. There was one Eclipse GSX for sale on there that was about 300 miles away from you. The GSX has all wheel drive and a turbocharger making about 195 horsepower a friend of mine had one and it was a good car.

im not a fan of the civics or the CRX but an eclipse GSX or GST maybe, isnt the GSX a little unbalanced? but that could be fixed with some suspension upgrades i think, i would like a prelude too, i was also maybe looking into a Celica how are they?

A 1987 Corolla is either going to be FWD or RWD depending on the model. For $700 a Corolla with only 90,000 miles on it is a damn good deal if it is in good condition. They are well known for reliability so that sounds like the car to get if everything checks out.
