Default GT vs. GTO

These forums just aren't lively enough!

So...

Interesting

I suspect the 4.10's had a large role in it. Still... Very interesting.

Discuss.

I heard the gto have no traction for the first 100' while the mustang had a clean take off. Bald tires and bad driving = no chance?

Mustang didn't have even close to a clean take-off. The high-revving you hear right before take-off isn't the GTO. That's the mustang. It's the exact same sound I have with my CAI and Brenspeed 93 Oct tune, which is exactly what he has. He launches at about 4k RPM and floors it, that's why you hear him bouncing off the rev limiter (waaaaaaaaaah-wah-wah-wah-wah-wah-wah-wah-wah).

He needs to be launching at ~2500 and easing on the throttle. You go wot with 360+ horses on some 8.5" wide tires and you are gonna break loose.

Probably not. The whole reason most of those vids are on youtube is for rep or something like that and the guys who really know how to drive aren't out on the street acting like idiots. They are behind the wheel at the track actin' a beast.

Most youtube videos of street racing are that way. They go WOT and just let it go.

I know I can't go more than 75% throttle in 1st without breaking loose and I launch from 2.5, then ease into the throttle, as soon as I hit second I go WOT, I get a big chirp at first in second but that's not a bad thing really.
