Why not NGK for a Ford?
Whatever the case is, I won't have to change them for a while. Bosch wire sets in good condition, Motocraft coil packs (probably OEM) I did try swapping the firing order of the secondary spark plugs, so instead of the main spark plugs shocking on the the intake stroke and the secondaries on the exhaust stroke (they designed it this way for less emissions), I have both spark plugs firing on the intake stroke. I haven't noticed a difference, but I've heard it makes the engine run better. |

I have rarely used copper, I have never owned an iridium plugs. I think all the plugs I have replaced in the last 15 years were Bosch platinum. The few exceptions one was the 1995 Lincoln Continental, which used different part numbers on the front 4 plugs vs the 4 on the firewall side, stupidest plan ever, cost like $120 for plugs and wires for that thing. I know the Honda had Champion plugs that I wasn't fond of, nor the autolites I put in it, then I put NGK and it ran like a top from then on. I also use NGK in my Jet Ski's as well, with very few issues sans fouling them about every third year.
All my stock ACdelco plugs have had the electrode wear out really quickly, but a regap and they go on chugging.

Yeah for a Ford i'd stick with Motorcraft too.
GM it's ACDelco or NGKs. Put Champions in my Silverado once, the 6.0L hated them lol, ran like piss. Idled on like 5 cylinders. Put NGKs in and she ran perfect. All my GMs have loved NGKs.

Isn't it funny how so many enthusiasts come to the same recommendation? Stock replacement or NGK if it fits. Platinum plugs are nice if you plan to keep the vehicle a while; They physically wear slower than coppers, so they need to be changed less often. Iridium is a huge step up from platinum and are the best all around plug type out there. They aren't worth the cost to warrant use on an old jalopy though, so keep that in mind. Also, I find it cool to know that the same iridium is being used in fusion reactors essentially powering a mini sun here on earth (The more you know...).

Cleaned it out. Bringing it back to the guy I've been trading it back and forth with tomorrow morning.

No idea yet. I'm getting my dad's Ranger so I'll have a vehicle for a while then I'll eventually get a little econobox. Not too happy about it but I have to because I have a horrible job and I can hardly afford gas and parts for the K10. time to move on I guess.

Replaced an engine cradle in an 01 Taurus over the weekend. Let me tell you now that it's not a fun job to do in your driveway. Lol
Also haven't posted since I've had the s10 done here is the before. ![]() And here it is now ![]() I replaced the stock sealed beam lights with the better looking halogens off of a blazer. Took the grill and bumper off the same blazer. Got the fender off a 97 s10 and the hood off of a 2000 bravada. Still not done but I'm out of money for the time being. Still want to put better looking rims. Also, if you look close at the driver side headlight it is pushed in a little and the hood pops up a little. I'm gonna go ahead and replace that front support that the radiator sits on. That should fix it.
