Default Adding a Screen to Ford Mustang

Is it possible to add a touchscreen console to the middle of a Ford Mustang GT (07'). You know the ones you see in the luxury cars? I was wondering if it was possible to popout some of the existing units, like the cd player and put that in to get gps and all that.

You could do it... but you'd probably have to get a mini ITX computer.

Sure can! Any in-dash monitor will fit. Probably a single din unit is what will fit, so it will be a pop-out screen. Many have built in navigation if thats what you would like, and others dont. If you want some suggestions just let me know.

Yeah, that seems to be what I am looking for, if you could post some pics so im sure we are on the same page that would be awsome (Not sure of the technical name of the thing). Anyways, suggestions would be very much appriciated.

Lastly, would this require lots of modifications to the car or how easy of an install is this?

Installation isnt too hard. nfortunately newer cars are getting harder and harder to work on... I do mobile electronics installs for a living currently... I havent worked on a new mustang, but im sure you can do it.

Ill just link you a few indash screens to give you an idea, then you can let me know what kind of budget you have for the unit. Keep in mind parts, i would set aside $50-100 just for parts for installing.

Hrm, looks a little pricy, how hard is it to replace the stock radio, with something with an aux input, if it doesnt already have one?

Very easy if you a hands on type. Just a few screws and some pop in clips holding the dash on. The the rest are power connectors, similar to molex connectors on a PC.

The 07 GT has a double DIN radio as far as I know. You should be able to get a double DIN touchscreen monitor that will fit in place of the stock radio easily. Can get some pics of possible models if you need.

Random but the other day I saw an orange Ford Mustang (previous generation, ~2003 or 2004 probably) with 22" rims and a hole cut out of its trunk with a 15" monitor on the OUTSIDE of the trunk! When I saw this thread I thought maybe this was the thread for whoever's car that was lol.
