Default Rant: Van Angels

http://www.vanangels.org/

This page pisses me off to no end. So apparently the auto manufacturers are at fault because the owners forgot to properly service and get their tires rotated / changed at proper intervals.

Basically they are trying to persuade people to NEVER ride in 15 passenger vans because of the chance of a rollover from a blown rear tire. >.<

Thats dumb, they may as well be telling people to NEVER ride in any vehicle because a blown tire may cause a rollover.

My BS detector is going absolutely bonkers right now. Seriously...wat? I guess by their logic we should be driving sports cars, because even smaller minivans are prone to barrel rolls when you drive stupidly and don't take car of the tires.

My rigs:

1985 Ford F150 | 4x2 | 300ci OHV inline six | 4-speed OD manual | 310K | No power brakes | Running 100% - It hasn't driven this good in 15 years!

1984 Ford F150 | 4x2 | 300ci six | granny four | 3.55 rear end | 210K | Brakes shot. Rear drums are doing most of the work. Not fit to drive due to that.
1997 Ford Explorer XLT | 4.0L Vulcan V6 | 5-speed automatic | shift-on-the-fly 4WD | 210,000 miles | Running 95% - Needs brakes on all four corners + bald tires
1989 Ford F150 | 300cid six...again | 5-speed | 4x4 | 160K | Needs brakes done as well. Oi!

Let's ban RWD vehicles. There's a slight possibility the driveshaft will come loose of the trans/tcase and hit a pothole and the vehicle will go end over end.

actually don't even drive at all, you could crash. or worse, a van will roll over and hit you

in that case don't even go outside

lol I saw that happen at school once...didn't flip just kinda hopped the back wheels a bit and made horrible noises. I'd be lying if I said I didn't thoroughly enjoy it.

And Kenny, we shouldn't drive sports cars 'cause if we get hit by a semi it might just drive right over us. I think we should all become Amish and drive hose-drawn buggies...clearly the safest thing to do.
