Default Driving Rant

I don't know about you guys, but you'd assume that when the posted speed limit is say, 35mph, that drivers would go...35mph. Not around where I live, 4 times this has happened to me, yesterday and today. I'm driving on a one lane road with no passing allowed, the limit is 35 and the guy in front of me is going 20mph at best.

If there's anything that makes me fume with road rage, its this. I absolutely cannot stand it when people go so much under the speed limit that I'm basically crawling to my destination. Learn to drive people of IL! I'd rather see people speed past me than go in front of me and slow down to a crawl.

/end rant

Which is why I love I5. Go over the speed limit to not get mowed down by semi's.

In CA the speed limit for trucks and autos with trailers is 55MPH so there are always vehicles moving at 55MPH on the roadway. When im non the freeway I usually drive 55MPH or 60MPH because I am poor and buy my own gas.

In contrast do the rich people get gas given to them?

I averaged 20-24mpg doing 80+ for ~75 miles.

I usually use that as an excuse to see where my powerband is.

My rigs:

1985 Ford F150 | 4x2 | 300ci OHV inline six | 4-speed OD manual | 310K | No power brakes | Running 100% - It hasn't driven this good in 15 years!

1984 Ford F150 | 4x2 | 300ci six | granny four | 3.55 rear end | 210K | Brakes shot. Rear drums are doing most of the work. Not fit to drive due to that.
1997 Ford Explorer XLT | 4.0L Vulcan V6 | 5-speed automatic | shift-on-the-fly 4WD | 210,000 miles | Running 95% - Needs brakes on all four corners + bald tires
1989 Ford F150 | 300cid six...again | 5-speed | 4x4 | 160K | Needs brakes done as well. Oi!

In contrast, rich people have their parents give them a credit card while they go to school that they can buy gas with, but they usually just end up buying beer.

At this point I don't know, IL is battling for the title. But really, people should pay attention to the speed limit, so they dont have to slow down to a crawl from being overly cautious.
