Default Headlight flashing equipment

A saw recently a car that was fitted with a pair of fog lamps and a pair of driving lamps in order to boost its standard headlights. Whilst I watched this car the driver flashed his lights and all three pairs of lights then continued to flash quickly and sequentially one after the other until he stopped. I guess that this means that he had fitted a relay. Does anyone know more about a relay of this type or where I can obtain one ?

You may be correct about the sequential flashing of lights being illegal, but I am afraid that your suggestion about me flashing them by hand just wouldn't work for the following reason. Although a Brit, I do drive my cars abroad quite often and France is a country I drive to frequently. When driving through a major city such as Paris I often feel that the French adopt the same driving style as do London cab drivers i.e. they conspicuously avoid giving any indication at all that they have seen you, thereby automatically securing for themselves the right of way. It is my intention to adapt my lights so that they flash in the manner I have described ; this will, I am sure, ensure that I am seen at all times and can therefore obtain a distinct driving advantage over the Frogs ! This will be a good thing since driving an Aston Martin, as I do, I get all manner of French drivers try and race me - the flashing lights should frighten the crap out of them !

Thanks for the feedback, fellas ! I'll follow it up. I've now changed my DB7 for a DB9. Last month I was driving it through France and committed the unforgivable sin ( in French eyes, at least ! ) of crossing a solid white line in order to overtake a stream of cars in front of me. Of course the Aston ( 6 litre/V12 engine/450 BHP ) can easily do this without endangering anyone, but the two French policemen who stopped me did not agree with me when I said this. They were quite friendly, though, and obviously wanted to have a good look at the car. After about 10 minutes of ogling the car, one of 'em said that he wanted to request that a designated road traffic officer attended the scene ( the two I refer to were paramilitary police). He turned up about 20 minutes later and lectured me about the dangers of crossing a solid white line. He then made a call on his cellphone. When his call was finished he dropped the tailgate of his police car and sitting upon it then opened a bottle of red wine ( it was about 8.30 in the morning ! ) and taking out a bunch of paper cups offered wine to everybody present ! Shortly thereafter a girl on a "Triumph" motorbike braked to a halt at the side of the road where we were all stopped. She turned out to be the road traffic officer's girlfriend ( my wife, who speaks good French, had told me that this guy had rung his girlfriend on his cell phone and told her to get over here, but I didn't beleive my wife ! ). The girl then asked me in perfect English if she could have her picture taken on and in the car ! What could I do ? I let her have the pics taken ! I didn't do me any good, since I still got fined (180 Euros), but I was told that they could have fined me much more, so what the Hell !

yup not legal and my guess like socom is a strobe light kit. you can put it inside the same housing as the standard light so you do not loose the functionality of the original light but then have this in there as a secondary
