Default new sports car budget: $10k

Clarification... i meant REVISED sports car budget. "new" was in reference to my old post. I AM looking at used cars obviously.

Anyway, my budget got turned down to something around $10k. Again, it's something fun/reliable/sporty.

Best ideas? I'm in the St Louis area

10k?

Corvette C4
Ford Mustang GT
Pontiac Fiero with a 3800 SC Swap
Third Gen Chevrolet Camaro with a 5.7L
Nissan 240SX with an SR20DET
Turbo Mazda Miata NA or NB

We need more details to give you a better answer, but that about covers it for cheap speed.

I like those cars, though I'm trying to get a newer car, year 2000+. Miata is do-able but not really feasable for me... looking more like a sedan.

You want a sedan sports car?

Pontiac GTO new gen
Subaru Impreza (if you can find a WRX for the price, dew it.)

Why do you want a sedan again?

Yeah, Impreza WRXs are awfully hard to come by sometimes, but they are definitely nice cars. Loved them for a long time, but in high demand so typically high prices, too.

It doesn't matter why I'd like a sedan haha it's what I'm looking for though.

I'm not sure about a big muscle car like that. I live in Missouri where inclement weather isn't that uncommon... also I have no garage to keep that car in.

Here's a '05 Legacy I found for 10k
but the guy listed a couple mods... "Racecomp tarmac 1 coil overs" and "Poly lower control arm bushings (oem ones were prone to cracking and tearing)".

This coil over has something to do with the suspension? What are these mods and why has he installed them? Perhaps you guys might know something more about them.

Coilovers are indeed suspension mods. They allow for more adjustment and setting of suspension. On a Legacy that won't see the circuit, they're a waste of money.

Coilovers are springs. Technically the whole strut as in "coil goes over (or outside) the shock", but most people refer to them just as the spring.

Okay, so does this stink burnt rice for a car I'm trying to buy? It seems like such an odd thing to "modify" instead of anything else. What about the "Poly lower control arm bushings"?
