Default Another bronco

So I found a bronco on craigslist yesterday with no motor. It's got either a 4 or 8 inch lift (the guy doesn't know?). Also has a 4 Spd bulldog trans. Now my question is what kind of things I should look out for? How do you go about inspecting a car with no motor? Specifically the trans and 4x4.

Here's a link to the add
1989 Ford Bronco (Body)

And here's a pic

I'll take more pics when I go see it but for now that's all I have.

Potentially lol. The top one on top, with pretty much just rims is a different vehicle so disregard it.

Pretty sure that's a 4" lift and it looks like it may be just a body lift, not a good sign...
I wouldn't pay a dime over $500...

Another question. How interchangeable are 351's? I've got like a 78 Starcraft boat that's trashed but it's got a good 351 in it. Would I be able to throw that in a bronco?

Marine motors typically have quite a bit of proprietary parts. There is a good choice mounts, etc would be wrong.

I'm more concerned about bolting up to the trans. I'm sure the wife's grandpa can make the motor sit there but I don't wanna even try if the trans won't work.

I went to look at it today and completely spaced taking pictures lol. I did however find out that it's for sure a four inch suspension lift. The body and interior are both in real good shape and the frame and driveline seem to be solid. Do you guys think $800 sounds like a pretty good price or should I try to go cheaper? They seem like nice honest people an I don't think they are trying to hide anything. I really want it but I keep second guessing myself.

I think $800 is a good price for that. The suspension lift itself is worth about $250 used, the interior in good shape is worth a premium too. That 351 is its a Windsor will bolt right up, if its a 351M its got the the 400/429/460 bell housing pattern and it wont work. It looks like it could be a really decent Eddie Bauer with not too much work.

I actually have an in on a slightly damaged 1989 F-150 with a 351 where I can get the whole truck for $400 with running engine. Too bad you werent closer, or you could have a badass Bronco in no time.
