Default First Time Car Buyer

I'm looking to replace my Subaru outback before it dies. I need a used car that can keep up off-roading and will last a long time. Any suggestions for make or model? I'm currently interested in an older Toyota 4Runner.

Where are you located at and what kind of offroading are we talking about?

I live in Northern Colorado so off roading is usually rock climbing off trails and old logging trails. The trails I've been on lately are pretty steep and rocky. If that helps?

Price? Is it your daily driver? Fuel mileage requirements? Any other preferences?

Around 10k and I drive a lot. Right now I commute about 120 miles round trip a day to work. So it'll have to stand a pretty good beating. Does that help?

Sounds like an old SUV that gets terrible fuel mileage and could easily have questionable reliability is a terrible idea to me if I'm honest.

Source: Have commuted with an old SUV that gets terrible mileage for many years.
