Default 2000 Firebird Trans Am or 1999 C5

Hello,
This is my first post on this forum! But I am looking into buying my first car and I can't decide between the two. Price or insurance cost is not a factor. Both are auto trannys. It will be my first car. I'm aware neither are "fuel efficient" but which one would get better fuel economy. I live in the suburbs outside of a city so there are a few stop signs to get out of my neighborhood and stop lights to get out of town. I don't really have a heavy foot. Very light on my foot unless I'm trying to show it off(though it's hard to show off a Subaru Outback). It will be a daily drive to school, then work, then the gym. On the weekends I'll take it out with some friends and all that. I am making a little above minimum wage 7.82/hour. I would like to take the faster one but which ever one gets better fuel economy will probably be my choice. Like I said, don't bother bringing up insurance or the price of either cars for that's already taken care of. Thanks for your help and have a nice day! And feel free to recommend other cars, preferably sporty, fast ones

The corvette has better aerodynamics and will get better gas mileage on the highway with a light foot.

With the corvette you will be cruising with only one of your friends at a time.

I think both are a good choice for performance and reliability, the main thing for me would be if a two seater will suit your lifestyle.

I think I could pull off a 2 seater. I can just borrow the Subaru that I drive now if I wanna hang with friends and just let my dad use the vette.

Corvette is not a good first car.

And explain why...I may be young, but I've been driving for a while. I've already taken one for a spin, along with a lot of other powerful/dangerous cars.

I've taken 600 rwhp cars for a spin, doesn't mean its a good idea to DD one.

You'll deny it as every other person buying their first car will, but ask anyone on this forum, and we'll all tell you the same thing: you'll crash your first car.

Honestly, you think a 2 seater would be acceptable, but I don't know many people in that age range (and I've only got a few years on you) that could live with not having a back seat. Half the draw for a fast car is to bring friends and show off.

The transam will be less of a target for thieves/vandals/cops than the corvette will, in addition to the things that have already been said
