Default Buying new car - would like some wisdom from you guys

Hey guys Id like to buy a truck/jeep/suv. I'll need it for some hauling, nothing to heavy - perhaps a small-medium boat maximum.

I'm starting a new business so cash is limited to $5000

I'd like for it to last at minimum 2 years, about 40,000km with minimal maintenance.

Any ideas on a vehicle I can pickup that would do this? Perhaps something that will hold its value and I won't lose out too much when I got to sell it?

Thanks guys

Merry Christmas

A v6 s-truck would serve you well in that price range.

Late 90s/early 2000s S10 Blazer would fit the bill perfectly. Great shape truck could be had for that money.

Otherwise same time period Tahoe would work too if you need to haul more crap in it (or behind it).

late 90s early 2000's tacoma or frontier. They will last forever and dont have the god aweful steering slop of the s10/sonoma.

Clarify small-medium boat(like 16 foot-20 foot??)...I always prefer overkill with boats, especially if you have lots of hills or slick roads.

I've owned three and don't know what steering slop you're talking about. They're not a sports car but they're far and away better than any F150 of the 90s. I've never had more than an inch or so of play. In fact I'd argue the steering on the S trucks is very good, lots of feedback, very communicative.
