![]() I have a nissan versa that i purchased a cold air intake for. After install check engine light came on, causing other issues. How can i use the after marke intake without the engine light booming on. I believe it is causing the car to run "lean".

![]() I'm sorry, you bought a cold air intake for a Nissan Versa? Are you serious?
Maybe you should just stick with the stock airbox and stop wasting your money modding the cheapest new car in America. I can almost guarantee you are not going to get any gains worth what you put into it. Hey, nothing wrong with buying a cheap car. Most of us here have cheap cars or owned one. Just saying it's not worth it to try to kid yourself here.

![]() I get that alot. But i actually saw a signifigant performance increase while it was installed. Dropped 4 seconds off the quarter mile time.

So any ways, do what you will. Have you looked to make sure all the hoses and clamps are seated correctly and tight? Is there a MAF sensor in the intake? If so re install it, and while doing so clean it with maf cleaner, then try again. Also you may want to clear your codes or disconnect batter for a few min to reset stuff and see if the light comes back on.

You need to provide the set code for us to help you at all anyway.

![]() We need the code as has been posted.
Oiled type air filter? Maybe too much oil! It will foul the MAF.

![]() Not too much air. The computer manages the air fuel ratio and keeps it correct.

![]() Just leave it stock. I can say with near certainty you aren't making any performance improvements, let alone 4 seconds off your 1/4 mile. That would mean you're running low 14's which would also mean you more than doubled, nearly tripled, your horsepower just with an intake. Just no.
If you want to get serious with modding and hitting the drag, you've bought the wrong car. If you want to look into finding the right car to play with, this is a great place to ask and get you pointed in the right direction. That being said, you mentioned "other issues" in addition to the CEL in your OP. You need to elaborate on what "other issues" are as well as get the code it's throwing. Otherwise we can't really help you.
