Thumbs up K & N Fresh Air intake

Well I must be having another midlife crisis because I just installed a K&N Fresh air intake on the Dodge PU.

Had no trouble at all: the photo-filled instruction sheet was a breeze and there was enough and correct hardware to do the job.

Had one mis-step: should have checked the filter interior more closely: a strip of rubber got inhaled into the throttle body...but a few moments and a couple of clamps later I was able to pull it free and motor on.

It definitely increases the power of the engine. I drive a certain section of road pretty hard several times a week for several years so I know what the truck usually will do when floored...

Aside from the unbellievably loud noise from under the hood awt WOT the rearend breaks free a lot quicker and longer thatn before...

It's a good alternative to an annoyingly loud Flowmaster it only gets loud at WOT or under load. Cruising it's about the same sound level.

Pretty neat...I was not really expecting much of a difference.

Yes they can. I install one on every truck I buy and I am always amazed at the difference in power and torque. In my opinion, thats the best $~50 you can spend.

I have the K&N filter in my PT, and yeah it makes a nice boost (not as a much as a CAI or short ram, but yeah), I could hear it start sucking air in (more now so because of my Accident...)

They also improve your gas mileage. Pretty much one of the best mods available for any vehicle.
