Default New youngster here ^u^

Hey I'm Sebastian, and I currently dont own a car due to the lack of a license (I'm almost 15, I really am quite young), but I just simply love cars and have grown to love them more as me and my dad are restoring a '66 Ford Shelby Mustang. I joined the forum to share my knowledge and hopefully pick up more knowledge about these simply amazing machines we call cars. I hope this forum takes a welcome to even the younger crowd who simply just wants to learn about cars : > Anyway, its nice meeting you all and I hope I get to get an edge over all my friends when it comes to cars (even though I kind of already do as the term DOHC and SOHC will baffle most of them...)

Sure! Aha gimme a second though : >

Edit: Alrighty, here they are.

This is when we first got the car, due to the date. Most of the body is the same, but we've done a lot to the performance side of things now.

The old interior. It'll be updated. Sometime eventually...

We ripped out the stock motor and put in a 475 Windsor engine into it.

The project is mostly at a stand still now as we found out there was some major rusting on the rear of the chasis, so we sent it to a mechanics shop on a "non-urgent" say, and a mechanic there died recently, so it's going to be awhile before we get it back in our hands.

Looks like a nice project. It's nice to see those classics kept on the road.

475 you say, now you got my attention.

Did you know that some of the early 6cyl 3MT 64.5-67 mustangs weighed in with under a 2700lb wet curb weight? My uncle has a nice 65 mustang I was going to "borrow" someday and make a project out of, but it's under lock and key now .

Also, welcome to the boards! I'm Speed and I have auto anorexia. Ask me anything you want to know about weight reduction.

Yep :3 475, not at the wheels though unfortunately. But god have mercy if I ever use all 475 horses xD

And yes I did : > Mostly because the 66 in the picture has a curb weight under 2700.

And oh thats good to know : > I assume theres more to auto weight trimming than light weight parts and taking out panels and seats? xD
