Default Hi From Ontario Canada

Hi guys!

I've been into hot rods and custom cars since I was a kid. For over 10 years, I've been learning the art of metal shaping starting out with a set of about 9 hammers, some dollies, and a 3/4" rubber mat and things have kinda evolved from there.

I'd like to extend my hand in appreciation to all the members who have the same passion for cool cars.

I was hoping to share a completed project built entirely from scratch including the chassis and sheet metal body. It was designed and built using SR-71 Blackbird influences with some styling cues borrowed from classic European sports cars as well as American muscle cars of the late 60's... The interior design was based loosely around a fighterjet c0ckpit. Our goal was to create something that may have resembled a factory produced elegant concept supercar in the 60's. This basically got me hooked on sheet metal shaping.

Here's a photo. If you guys feel it's "too out there"...it'll be removed.

Thanks very much!

Thanks very much for the thumbs up Mr. Car Guy. We're getting really excited about R2 - our second from scratch mid-engine build. You're welcome to hit the 'Like' button to stay up to date with the latest...

Thanks Speed Demon.

Here are a few more shots...

We used a hotrodded Chevy350 putting out around 370HP mounted in a reverse rotation manner...pulleys face the rear of the car..for better weight distribution.

The interior design was loosely based around a fighter jet c0ckpit.

And a photo of the top rear 3/4...

Hi,

By 'scratch' I'm saying that no particular vehicle was cut up and modified to create Rhythm. Its not a re-body nor kit car.

In regards to your comment, I'm assuming that you're referring to the upper caps that hold the top strut purchase. Those were donated from a 'production vehicle' to retain the bold pattern of the upper rear T-Bird struts ... however the rear inner fenders were created from flat 16 gauge sheet metal with the cap blended in... Hopefully the photo photo below will clear up your confusion.

If you guys want, I could start a build journal in the Build section of the forum for this vehicle. It would give you a better sense of what went into creating the car. What do you think?
